Welcome to By 50 Journey blog!
I’m so thrilled you’re here!
If you want to learn about personal finance, how to get out of debt, how to save money, and how to earn extra income, you’re in the right place. I’m going to show how and take you with me on our journey to become financially independent. Read on :).
If you’d like, please read the reasons why I create this blog here.
This page will get you started on the website content.
The “BLOG“ is where you’ll find all the blog posts in chronological order and begins with the most recent one. Here I share useful resources and tips I use along our journey to Financial Independence (FI). I’ll talk about my financial mistakes, budgeting, the FI plan, debt payoff, saving money, investing strategies, etc. If you wish to find a blog post by its categories, you can click on the “BLOG” tab on the main menu.
The “RESOURCES“ is where I share all the resources I used to educate myself on the subject and why I am so inspired by what I read from other bloggers. I learn so much from them and I hope to pay it forward by promoting the FI concept and in turn sharing our journey.
The “HOW TO START A BLOG” is a step-by-step on how to start a blog with Bluehost. If you want to start your own blog, this is a page you’ll want to check out. In my opinion, everyone should have a blog. It is a great way to jot down your thought and share your experiences with the world. Not to mention that you can talk freely about any subject you enjoy with like-minded people.
The “GOALS PROGRESS” is where I track and record our FI numbers. By having this page public, it keeps me motivated and accountable. My ultimate goal is to be financially independent by the time we both turn 50. To reach the goal, we will need to be completely debt-free (the only debt we have left is our home mortgage) and need to be able to replace our household expenses with passive income.
The “NET WORTH REPORT“ is where I share our numbers in relation to being financially independent by year. It also serves as our record, helps us see if we are on the right track, and in turn improves our strategies. Our goal is to be financially independent by the time we both turn 50 years old. This does not necessarily mean that we’ll retire when we hit that number. The fact & feelings of having financial security are more important to us. Mr. 50 enjoys his work. Retiring early is not on his radar. Nonetheless, I’ve dreamed about retirement since the day I received my first paycheck. Anyway, this balance works for us as a couple. Certainly, we don’t know what the future will hold for us and only time will tell. Life is short. For us, there’s not much time left at all! Other bloggers, I admire retired in their 30’s or even 20’s…holy moly! Well, we started late. The reason as to why we late deserve a post of its own.
The “ABOUT“ tab. Okay, this is obvious. This is where I talk about why I wanted to blog about our financial life and why the concept of FI is important to me personally.
The “CONTACT ME” tab. I’d love to hear from you! I enjoy talking about money whether it’s about retirement planning, saving money or making extra money. Please ask me anything you’d like, I’ll answer it as soon as I can.
